Starigrad (or also known as Starigrad - Paklenica) is a small coastal town located in Dalmatia, about 45 kilometres north-east of croatian
City of Zadar. In the hinterland of Starigrad is the impressive mount
Velebit. Starigrad is best known on being in a close vicinity of
National Park Paklenica that covers part of Velebit mountain. For these reasons Starigrad is a
popular holiday spot - an ideal place to stay for visitors that want to visit national park, and yet being a coastal town, offers everything that Adriatic offers - a crystal clear sea, pebble beaches and numerous water sports.
National Park Paklenica is a paradise for nature lovers and active holidaymakers - it offers walking, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, mountaineering and amasing flora and fauna. The white rocks of Velebit offer striking contrast against blue sky and green vegetations near Paklenica waterways.
Not so far from Starigrad there are also three more Croatian national parks: Kornati, Plitvice and Krka, making Starigrad an ideal place for exploring croatian national parks that can all be reached within an hour or so.
