Silo

Silo on the map of Krk. Silo is a small coastal town on the north-eastern side of Island of Krk. Silo is facing tourist town of Crikvenica on the mainland which can be reached in only 20 minutes by a taxi speed boat.

Silo is much quieter place than City of Krk or Malinska and is ideal for families with children, especially owing to sandy and pebble beaches nearby. In Silo you will find small restaurants with home made food, coffee bars and ice-cream parlours.

Once a fishing village, fishing is still very present in Silo and sports and leisure fishing are popular activities. For more active holidaymakers, Silo has beach volleyball, tennis couts and bowling courts. Close to Silo is a bay of Soline, known on the healing mud.

Divers find Silo of special interest owing to Greek cargo ship "Peltastis" that has sunk in vicinity of Silo during a vicious night storm in January 1968. "Peltastis" wreck lies on the sand bed in depth of only 20-30 metres, whilst ship's mast is on the depth of only 10 metres. "Pelatis" cargo ship (1600 BRT) is about 60 metres long.

Visitors can find the accommodation in Silo in holiday apartments, rooms and guest houses (B&B). There are no hotels in Silo.
